Colonial Indigeneity Theory
This course provides a theoretical overview of the role that the
English language and its literatures played in the British and
North American colonial projects, as well as theorizing the role
of literature in English in ongoing processes of resistance and
decolonization in these spheres. About half the course will
focus on North America and what is now Canada, and will
explore examples from the Haudenosaunee communities that
have a historical claim to the land on which Laurier resides.
